About Us
Focus Ventures is dedicated to the discovery of mineral deposits in Peru and Mexico. We have assembled a highly effective team of talented geologists and consultants, led by President David Cass. While the ultimate goal is to define a major, economic resource for our target commodities, near term objectives are to build a portfolio of solid projects, create alliances with major mining companies, and use the joint venture model to off-set risks where necessary.
Despite 15+ years of exploration by foreign and local mining companies, Peru and Mexico still have so much potential to deliver flagship projects, as demonstrated by the acquisition of the Minas Chanca project in Peru as well as the Santa Cruz project in Mexico. Mineral deposits can remain undiscovered for years until a different geological interpretation or "new set of eyes" leads to new ideas, concepts and discovery.
Exploration and acquisition by the Focus technical team is driven by sound science and new perspectives with its roots in Peru and Mexico, arguably two of the most mineralized places on Earth. On the financial side, Focus is directed by some of the best market-savvy financiers in the business, Simon Ridgway and Mario Szotlender, founding members of The Gold Group, who have raised in excess of $400 million since 2003.
